One thing that will always amuse me about “anime critical” or anime industry critical people is that they shame men for watching moe and shine featuring cute, nonsexual girls as being creepy and pedophilia yet then around and shame men for watching big titted sexualized women because it is gross and objectifying. And if men refuse to watch something that is cute because it’s cute then they accuse them of having fragile masculinity.
Yet they don’t care when an anime uses handsome boys to attract a female audience or when women are living handsome pretty or muscular men.
They talk about the sexualization of girls and women yet consider pretty much anything men consume or engage in is subject to criticism (whether it be fragile masculinity, pedophilia or sexualization) and it’s very telling that they are looking to criticize men simply because they are men doing it, refusing to look at their own double standard for sexism and sexualization.
Because male sexuality or anything related to men is inherently predatory and gross while women who engage in the same behaviors get a free pass.
Because it’s acceptable for a grown woman to fawn over cute, handsome high school age anime Boyz as if boys are not victims of sexualization, abuse, unrealistic, idealistic, and fetishistic standards that girls are held to but to them, those things only affect girls.
